I have heard a whisper...and fallen in love!

Maybelline recently came out with a new line of lipsticks/lip balm hybrids. I must say I am totally on board with the trend toward more comfortable, hydrating lipsticks! Finally, the beauty world has heard our pleas! Needless to say, I couldn't wait to try these new Color Whisper...because Maybelline is totally right...sometimes a whisper is better than a shout!

The formula is very creamy, but not heavy on the lips (or too slick). They are on the sheer side, but the colour is buildable, which I LOVE! A light sweep on the lips will give you just a veil of colour (aka no need for a mirror to apply...did I just hear you go "woo hoo!"? Oh no wait, that was totally me!), but if you reapply a few coats, you get a gorgeous shiny lip. 

Because these are a cross between a lipbalm and a lipstick, you do have to reapply often (staying power is not that great) but if that means not having to deal with a drying formula (and flaky lips...so not cute), I am all for reapplying!

In a nutshell, lightweight lip products that can give off a range of colors depending on how much you build them up. Non-drying, comfortable to wear, moisturizing and all over good for your lips (they smell good too). If you are as big of a lipstick junkie as I am, these will quickly become a staple in your makeup bag...until the next lip innovation comes out that is (said in my best lipstick addict voice). Get one, you will want them all. Consider yourself warned.

Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids Swatches and Review

When Spring comes I love to wear bright hues on my lips. No...wait....scratch that...what am I saying? I love to wear bold lips ALL the time!

And I think I have found the boldest hues EVER from the drugstore (to this day anyway): the new Color Sensational Vivids by Maybelline!

Highly pigmented - 2 swipes and opaque coverage is achieved. Great staying power, but be careful as the darkest shades tend ot stain (On Fire Red is still on my arm). The formula is lovely: cream finish, and on my uber picky lips they are not drying. 

Here I am wearing On Fire Red #895. My new favorite bright red (if you follow me on Instagram, you have seen this picture before as it's currently my avatar).

p.s. Eyeliner I am wearing on the picture is the new Maybelline Master Duo in Black Lacquer.

Overall- I am in LOVE! The colours are outstanding! If you are not a nude lip only kinda gal, then you definitely need to give these a try!

Je me suis fait demander tellement de fois ce que je portais comme parfum quand je suis allée en croisière. Je l'avais emmené avec moi en croisière et je l'ai porté tous les soirs sur mon décolleté et mes épaules. Cette lotion ajoute un voile de fines paillettes dorées sur la peau. L'effet est tellement joli!

Maybelline 10H and 14H Color Stay Lip Products/Nouveaux produits lèvres Maybelline Color Stay 10H et 14H

Ce matin on se jase de produits à lèvres. Plus particulièrement, les nouveaux rouges à lèvres SuperStay 14H de Maybelline et leurs nouveaux feutres à lèvres lustrés SuperStay 10H.
This morning, we are talking about lip products. More specifically, the new Maybelline SuperStay 10H Stain Glosses and 14H lipsticks.

Le dossier de presse dit que ces petits tubes seront dispo fin Jan. 2012 mais je les ai déjà vu à mon Walmart, donc vous pouvez sûrement les trouver au vôtre également si vous voulez vous en procurer.
The press release mentions a late January 2012 as the ''in stores'' date, but I have seen them already at my local Walmart, do I am pretty sure you can find them at yours too if you want to get a few.

Rouge à lèvres SuperStay 14H Lipstick 
(On commence avec mon favori des deux/Let's start with my favorite of the two).

Formule hyper légère, à senteur de fruits, qui ne laisse qu'une mince couche de couleur intense sur les lèvres. Pas de lèvres sèches (mais assurez-vous d'avoir des lèvres souples et sans petites peaux sèches qui relèvent avant d'appliquer sinon ces rouges, comme tous les rouges longue tenue, vont les accentuer). Et les couleurs sont éclatantes. Ce qui est génial si vous aimez les rouges à lèvres vibrants. Si vous aimez davantage les neutres ou une lèvre nue, vous trouverez sûrement que la ligne ne comprends pas assez de teintes neutres. Seul point négatif...qui sais Maybelline sortira peut-être plus de teintes neutres dans un futur proche...ça serait définitivement une belle addition à la ligne.
Ultra-light formula, with a fruity aroma, that coats your lips with a very thin coat of intense color. No dry lips (but make sure you moisturize lips well first to start with a flake-free surface otherwise, like all long-wear lip products, these will accentuate any dryness). And the color are bright and bold. Which is fantastic if you like a statement lip. If you don't and prefer a neutral pout, you might find that the line doesn't include enough neutral/nude shades. My only negative comment...who knows maybe Maybelline will come out with more neutral shades in the near future. It would be a great addition to the line for sure.

Pour ce qui est de ''tenue de 14H'', les rouges tiennent bien sur les lèvres, mais pas 14H c'est certain. Je dois réappliquer au bout de 5 heures environ...oui un effet ''stain'' reste sur les lèvres même une fois vos lèvres essuyées, mais l'effet vraiment ''rouge à lèvres'' ne dure qu'environ 5 heures. Une fois la couleur fixée (ce qui prend environ 2-3 minutes), vous pouvez manger et boire et embrasser à votre guise avec très peu de transfer de couleur (il y a quand même un léger transfer) ce qui veut dire moins de retouches à faire.
As for the 14H claim, the lipsticks do last long on the lips, but not 14H. I have to reapply after about 5 hours...yes a stain effect remains on your lips after you wipe off the product but the true lipstick effect lasts roughly 5 hours. Once the color is set (which takes about 2-3 minutes), you can eat, drink and kiss as much as you want with very little transfer (there is still some color transfer), which means less touch-ups needed on your part.

Feutres à lèvres lustrés SuperStay 10H Stain Gloss 
(Un bon concept, mais besoin d'une meilleure formule/Great concept, but a better formula is needed)

J'aime: l'applicateur, le packaging, la légèreté de la formule, les couleurs superbes, la senteur de fruits et le fait que le produit à une durée de conservation de 24 mois.
J'aime moins: la tenue (environ une heure max. et non 10H) et l'effet asséchant.
I like: applicator, packaging, the lightweight feel of the product, the vibrant colors, the scent and the fact that the Stain Glosses have a 24 months shelf life.
I don't like: the staying power (about 1 hour max. and not the 10H claimed) and the drying effect.

Le dossier de presse nous dit ''n'assèchent pas les lèvres'' mais dans mon cas, ça s'est avéré faux. Mes lèvres n'ont vraiment pas aimé la formule de ces feutres lèvres lustrés. Le concept est génial...l'applicateur (photo ci-dessous) est super pratique et couvre bien la lèvre en une application (j'aimerais bien voir davantage de gloss lèvres avec des applicateurs semblables!). Le produit glisse bien sur les lèvres et les couleurs sont jolies comme tout (surtout si vous être fan de lèvres vibrantes) mais la formule ne tient pas et assèche (dans mon cas).
The press release tells us ''non-drying'' but in my case I didn't find this statement to be true. My lips really didn't like the formula of these Stain Gloss. The concept is a great one...the applicator (pic below) is super practical and covers the lip well in one stroke (I actually wish more glosses came with this type of applicator, they're great!). The product glides well over your lips and the shades are very nice (you will love them if you are a bold lip lover) but the formula doesn't last and is very drying (on me anyway).

Bon concept quand même Maybelline. J'aime bien la formule ultra-légère. Si seulement, elle n'asséchait pas mes lèvres autant et que la couleur tenait plus longtemps.
Great concept though Maybelline. I do like the lightweight formula. If only it wasn't so drying on my lips and would wear longer.

Petit conseil: même si les feutres lèvres utilisés seuls ne me conviennent pas, ils font de très bonnes bases pour d'autres gloss lèvres moins pigmentés et l'effet asséchant en est un peu réduit.
Tip: even if I am not wowed by these as a lip stain to be worn alone, they do make great bases when applied under a sheer colored lipgloss and doing so also takes care of the drying problem.  

Petit commentaire: le nom de ce produit à lèvres fait bien du sens en français, mais pas en anglais...Stain-Gloss...ce produit n'a pas l'apparence brillante d'un gloss du tout. Je les décrirais plutôt comme un rouge à lèvre liquide mais très léger, moins épais que les rouges liquides sur le marché. L'effet sur la lèvre est satiné et non ''glossy''.
Quick comment: the name of the product in French makes sense (translated you get Luster Lip Marker)...but not in English Stain-Gloss...this product doesn't look like a gloss at all. I would personally describe it as a thinner liquid lip color. Less thick than your usual liquid lipstick. The look you get on the lips is not glossy but satiny.
