Saw the movie with the family (loved it, the lip gloss crew did too) and had to get my hands on a few...ok ok I fess up..missing just one - When Monkeys Fly - the only glitter that received bad reviews (taco glitter). Too bad because the holo glitters looked gorgeous in the bottle!
I have tried/worn 3 of them so far and I have to say that this one (What wizardry is this?) is my favourite. The only liquid sand in the collection. Absolutely STUNNING!
The creamy shades are quite sheer (think OPI Barefoot in Barcelona). Personally, I prefer more opaque polishes so I am a tad disappointed. Glitters are to die for pretty. If you are a glitter lover, you will love these! My must: definitely Lights of Emerald City!
The collection includes 7 shades: 3 glitters, 3 "nude" shades and "What the Wizardry is This?", the only textured polish in the collection (liquid sand) which is the one I am showing you today.

Ok, so being the big baby that I am lol I couldn't wait to see what they would look like on! Presenting the Broadway imPress Nails Limited Edition in Orange with the Kiss Nail Dress in style #57860 (accent nail).
As you can see in the pic, the Kiss Nail Dress gave me a little grief...these aren't decals, they are stickers...see the evil bubbles on the sides of the nail? Now, my question is, would they have given me this much trouble on bare nails? I will definitely have to test it out and report back.
I really love the fun spooky designs offered in the 2012 Halloween collections. Note: these are much longer than the regular imPress nails. Scary spooky nails need to be long after all! But you can always cut and file them down to the desired length.

So, I decided I want to have neon nails too. But, having nothing else close by (aside from pharmacies...but no neons) I ran to Ardene this weekend and grabbed their version of Neon Yellow polish. Big let down...HUGE...I will talk to you about that in a sec. Donc, j'ai décidé que moi aussi je voulais des ongles ÉTÉ!! Mais, étant donné qu'aux alentours je n'ai que pharmacies (pas de néons...moche) et Ardene....et bien c'est là que je me suis dirigée à la course pour aller me chercher un vernis jaune néon. Grosse déception...GROSSE...je vous en parle dans un instant.
For the accent nail (and also because I fell in love with this Color Show shade) I chose Fuchsia Fever by Maybelline NY. Pour mon ongle-accent (et car je suis complètement tombée en amour avec cette teinte de la ligne Color Show) j'ai choisi Fuchsia Fever de Maybelline NY.
2 coats on each finger...see how crazy sheer the neon yellow is!/deux couches sur chaque doigt...le jaune néon est tellement transparent!
After 2 coats of Maybelline Color Show in Fuchsia Fever and 5...yes FIVE coats of Ardene Neon Yellow (who has time for 5 coats? See what I mean when I say huge let down? Because after 5 coats it's still not opaque!). Après deux couches de Maybelline Color Show Fuchsia Fever et 5...oui j'ai dit CINQ couches du vernis jaune néon Ardene (sérieusement, qui a le temps pour 5 couches de vernis...voyez maintenant ce que je veux dire par GROSSE déception?...5 couches et il n'est même pas opaque encore!).
Needless to say, I wish the Color Show line had neon shades! Il va sans dire que je serais aux anges si la ligne Color Show comprenait des teintes néon!

Another LOVE! I have tweeted about these nail polishes non-stop since discovering the display at my local Walmart. I now own 5 shades. Every time I go to Walmart, I come back with a new shade. Denim Dash is one of the two ''Denims'' finish shades. Only one coat is needed to achieve opacity and it dries incredibly fast (matte finish). So for the moms out there, this is the perfect polish to use on your little ones! ;) La teinteDenim Dash est une des deux teintes au fini ''Denims'' de la ligne. My daughters friends oohed and ahhed over my nails this weekend when we went swimming, so yesterday while doing my shopping, I picked up another bottle of Denim Dash and surprised our friends' daughters with it yesterday afternoon (they started applying it ON THE SPOT!). China Glaze For Audrey
This tutorial will show you how to achieve a cool newspaper mani!
You will need:
A base coat and top coat
A light shade of nail polish
Rubbing alcohol
Newspaper cut into small pieces
The first step is to apply a base coat to protect your nails
from staining. Then paint your nails with a light color, one or two coats
depending on how opaque your polish is. Then wait 5 to 10 minutes for it to be
completely dry. Before continuing with your nail design, I would suggest
preparing the small newspaper strips. So take any old newspaper and cut into small
pieces, small enough to cover up your nail area. Then take the rubbing alcohol
and dip either your nail or the newspaper piece in it. Once this is done, press
the newspaper piece firmly on your nail and wait for about 30 seconds so the
ink can transfer onto your nails. Finally, seal your design with a top coat. Repeat
these steps with all of your nails and you are done!

La première étape consiste à appliquer une couche de base
pour éviter que le vernis à ongles tache vos ongles. Appliquez maintenant sur
vos ongles une couleur de vernis pâle. Une ou deux couches dépendamment de
l’opacité de votre vernis à ongles. Attendez
alors 5 à 10 minutes pour vous assurer que le vernis est complètement
sec. Avant de continuer avec votre motif, je suggérerais de préparer les
petites bandes de papier journal. Prenez n'importe quel vieux journal et coupez-le en

vous devrez utiliser votre alcool à friction. Recouvrez entièrement votre ongle

J'étais chez Walmart la semaine passée quand j'ai spotté le display des nouveaux vernis Maybelline Color Show. Tellement de couleurs et de finis différents aussi (denim, métallique, craquelé, crème, shimmer...etc.). I was at Walmart last week when I spotted the new Maybelline Color Show display. So many colours and finishes (denim, metallic, crackle, shimmers, creme, etc.).
La manucure d'hier soir: Maybelline Color Show dans la teinte Wine & Dined 420. Je n'arrête pas de regarder mes mains. La couleur fait tellement chic! Last night's manucure: Maybelline Color Show in Wine & Dined 420. I can't stop looking at my nails. This shade is so chic looking!
Application: Opaque en 2 couches (mais sur la photo j'en ai mis 3...je trouve que les paillettes sont plus visibles avec trois couches). Bonne application/formule. Le vernis glisse bien sur l'ongle, pas de stries présentes. S'applique rapidement et le temps de séchage est dans la moyenne. J'ai attendu environ 3-4 minutes entre chaque couche (en écoutant la télévision). Application: Opaque in 2 coats (what you see here on the pic is 3 coats...I find that the shimmers were more visible after 3 coats). Good application/formula. The polish goes on smoothly and evenly. Dying time was ok, I waited 3-4 minutes between each coat (while watching tv).
J'aime beaucoup ce vernis Maybelline Color Show. D'autres teintes (surtout le fini denim!) devront revenir à la maison avec moi lors de mon prochain arrêt chez Walmart! Maybelline Color Show, not bad! More shades will have to come home with me next time I stop at Walmart (the denim finish has me really curious!).
J'aime bien le look des bouteilles des vernis Color Show avec leur capucon rond noir. Ils sont munis d'un pinceau d'une bonne grosseur, deux coups et l'ongle est couvert. Le prix est plus que génial. La formule de la teinte que j'ai testé est superbe. J'ai utilisé le 3-Way Glaze de Essie comme couche de finition, mais même sans un ''top coat'' ce vernis a un fini lustré. Color Show polishes come well packaged (love the sleek bottle with black cap) and have a nicely sized brush. I feel the price point is more than fair. The formula of the one I tried is great. I used Essie 3-Way Glaze as my top coat but even without a top coat, the polish has a shiny finish.

Today's Nail of the Day is an oldie but a goodie. China Glaze In Awe of Amber from the We Adorn You collection from a few years back (was it 2007?). Mon vernis du jour est un vieux de la vieille mais un bon comme on dit. China Glaze In Awe of Amber de la collection We Adorn You d'il y a quelques années (2007 je crois?).
Love this polish. It's more of a coppery shade than an amber shade but regardless, lovely polish. This is 3 coats but you could get away with only 2 (it would be more sheer but still pretty). J'adore la teinte de ce vernis. C'est plutôt un cuivré qu'une teinte d'ambre mais bon, il est quand même super joli. J'ai appliqué 3 couches ici mais vous pourriez en appliquer que deux (ce qui vous donnerait un effet plus translucide).
I keep breaking nail after nail so bare with me while I try to get them to a decent length again...broke another one tonight right before typing this (yes even this short they keep breaking). I'm hugely bummed out. Mes ongles brisent un après l'autre ces temps-ci. Donc, veuillez bien ignorez mes petits ongles courts le temps que je les chouchoute et qu'ils repoussent bien. I was sent two styles to try out: Camisole and Lingerie (I love the fun names!). To test out how easy these are to apply, I asked my 13 year old daughter to give herself a mani all by herself with just the instruction booklet that is included in the box to help her out.

She decided to use both styles to create her nail look. Using Lingerie on her ring finger and Camisole on the others. You can see that even with uber short nails, these nail strips give you a cool effect!
Elle a finalement décidé d'utiliser les deux styles dans la même mani. Utilisant le style Lingerie sur son annulaire et le style Camisole sur tous les autres doigts. Vous pouvez voir que même avec des ongles super courts, l'effet obtenu est vraiment chouette!
Her thoughts:
-Relatively easy to apply. They aren't as thin as the Sally Hansen Salon Effect Nail Polish Strips so they are easier to apply without risking tearing them in the process. Big Yay!
-What she had a hard time with was filing off the excess from her nails.
-She has very small nail beds and she is a nail biter so they were pretty short too. But she was able to find a fit for each nail (the box comes with 14 different sizes).
-She kept them on for 7 days but said they would have lasted 10 days as the box claims.
-Taking them off was super easy, you just peel the stickers off.

-Easy to apply: Clean nails with nail polish remover or alcohol. Press on starting at the cuticle and smooth down by running your finger down the center of the nail first. Fold down the strip over the edge of your nail. File off excess.
-you can also cut out designs and apply on your nails over nail polish to create cool looks!
-no dry time, no mess.

I love having pretty long nails. I hate having to soak them to dissolve the glue. I found a better way. And it's quicker too (who has time to waste soaking to remove their press-on nails?). J'adore avoir de jolis ongles longs. Mais je déteste devoir les faire tremper pour les enlever quand vient le temps d'une nouvelle mani. J'ai donc trouvé une meilleure méthode. Et c'est plus rapide en plus (vraiment qui a le temps de s'asseoir et perdre son temps à faire tremper ses faux ongles à coller?).
What you need/Matériel nécessaire:
-multi-sided nail file/lime à ongles à plusieurs côtés
-metal cuticle pusher with a rounded end/repousse-cuticules en métal avec un bout arrondi
How to proceed/Comment faire:
-using the rounded end, curved side up against the underside of the fake nail, wiggle the tip of the cuticle pusher between the fake nail and your real nail. Usually around day 3 I get some wiggle room on the side near the cuticles (see pic). Insert the tip and just move from side to side to break down the glue. The fake nail should pop right off. -En utilisant le bout arrondi, le revers vers le haut contre l'intérieur du faux ongle, insérez le bout de l'outil entre votre ongle naturel et le faux ongle. Habituellement, vers le 3 ième jour de port, je me retrouve avec des petites zônes décollées près des cuticules sur le côté de mes ongles (voir photo). Insérer le bout à cet endroit et bouger le repousse-cuticules doucement de gauche à droite pour détacher le faux ongle de votre ongle naturel jusqu'à ce que l'ongle se détache par lui même.
-Then all you need to do is use the nail file to remove glue residue on your nails. Finish off by using the ''shine buffer'' side of the file to end up with shiny looking nails. If you do it right, you shouldn't be able to even tell that you just had fake nails on. -Esuite, tout ce qu'il vous reste à faire est de limer vos ongles pour enlever toutes traces de résidu de colle. Le vernis Bourjois est mon premier de cette marque et je dois dire que je l'aime bien. Il s'applique bien et avec mon Sèche Vite en top coat, ma mani dure environ 3 jours sans s'écailler. Pas pire comme tenue. Les avez-vous essayé?
The Bourjois nail polish is my first polish from that brand. And I gotta say that I quite like it. It applies well and with a top coat (Sèche Vite), I get about 3 days out of a mani before my nails start chipping. Not bad. Have you tried the Bourjois nail polishes?

Mon obsession du moment. Le petit rosé grisé parfait. Classique et super féminin. Une teinte vraiment jolie pour l'automne. Opaque en une seule couche (on dit yay!) comme vous pouvez le voir sur la photo ci-dessous (avec un top coat). Joli non? Ces jours ci j'alterne entre brun très foncé ou prune ''vampy'' et cette teinte dépendemment de mon humeur.
My obsession of the moment. The perfect muted pink. Classy and feminine. I really like this shade for Fall. Opaque in one coat (can we say yay!) as shown on the picture (with a top coat). Isn't this pretty?
These days I alternate between really darn brown or plum vampy nails and this shade depending on my mood.
